For success in life and in work children require belief in themselves. Drama study provides confidence, self awareness and creativity, while developing language skills. Above all it’s FUN!

At Speak Up we make our students think as they create. We run and develop Drama and Communication courses that challenge and extend each child with their individual needs in mind. A shy child is encouraged to speak each week and raise their self awareness and confidence. A confident child is given an outlet for their creative energy and they learn to work well with others, accepting ideas from all class members as well as enhancing their own. Each week students are given the opportunity to perform solo and in groups. They evolve through games, physical and vocal warm ups and role-play. Gradually they discover effective ways to perform, learn lines, create ideas and recite poetry in a way that fosters understanding beyond simple rote learning. Children love the sense of purpose they gain from this friendly performance environment.
